A significant renovation to an existing residence located in Northeast, Pennsylvania was undertaken to better accommodate the lifestyle of a growing family. The transformation of the house was accomplished through a modern application of classical detailing which created a comfortable, timeless feeling that integrated well with the owners’ desires and sensibilities. In addition to completely reworking the façade and creating a new, welcoming porch, the interior was reworked to improve functionality and enhance family life. The foyer was altered to include additional storage while the kitchen was opened to a new great room addition including upgraded appliances and cabinetry. An arched colonnade adds a classical ambiance while defining functional spaces. Reconfigured bedrooms and new bathrooms complete the second floor renovations. The project incorporates green materials such as Hardi Board, Eco Star composite slate shingles, Elk composite decking and Aztec Trimboards.
