The owners Mr. Paul D. McLaughlin wanted to renovate his house located in Bayside, New York City. Originally a sun room glass enclosure was attached the rear elevation of the home. The house needed updating in the worst way. The redesign included adding new windows and doorway to the rear of the residence. The redesign allowed C. Allen Mullins architect to develop a deck to be accessed by the second form with trellis system to allow for shading in the warmer months. A trellis system also cover a walkway from the rear doorway of the renovation to an existing gazebo and hot tub. A garage addition was addressed in the design process for later construction.
