SOUTHAMPTON HOUSE RENOVATION
Teich
Southampton, NY
1986
When the client purchased this house, it had a well developed rear garden patio and swimming pool, but the orientation of the house to rear yard space did not exist. The back of the house was divided into small rooms with a rear stairway at the back. The original front stairway was removed in an earlier remodel of the house leaving only the rear stairway for access to the upper floors. C. Allen Mullins Architect redesigned the circulation by replacing a front stairway and opening the small rooms in the rear for kitchen, dining and family room. It set the stage for viewing and use for the existing outdoor space.
