C. Allen Mullins finished his intern requirement at Edward Larrabee Barnes architectural office. Mullins also completed his architectural registration in Massachusetts during tenure at Mr. Barnes office. After participating on a working drawing team for an auditorium project for the New York State University at Potsdam, New York. (SUNY) two projects were given to Mr. Mullins as Job Captain. Student Activities A and B were the upcoming projects for, the all new campus at Purchase College. Student Activities A working drawings were complete and construction began. Student Activities B was designed under A's construction and working drawings were to be completed. Student Activities A was a small version of B which provided eating, lounging, reading rooms, meeting spaces and short term visitor's rooms. The buildings were single stories with the exception of basements and a small tower at the end of each building, creating additional second-stories. Interesting courtyards formed the uninhabited spaces between the almost twin buildings. C. Allen Mullins completed the working drawings of Student Activities Building B and oversaw most of the construction phase, checking shop drawings and site observation for both Student Activities A and B.
