The Mobiles are an influence from Rick Malcolm’s studies in architecture and movement in space. The original mobile concept was first created in 2003. The mobiles are all different configurations and sizes but each box would contain a single primary color. His fascination of the structural aspects of the cantilever, that produce a floating and weightlessness characteristic, also transpired the ideas into these creations. This sparked the exploration of materiality more specific concrete and how such a heavy material might be used in a mobile.
